Where we're working
The Northern Uganda Literacy Program is currently supporting two local language communities in northern Uganda - Leblango and Kumam.
The Literacy Laboratory Project (LLP) operates in six districts (Otuke, Kole, Alebtong, Dokolo, Amolatar and Oyam) in the Lango Sub-region and the Lira Municipality. The project is implemented in 128 government primary schools reaching 80,000 pupils and over 760 teachers.
The Strengthening a Literate Society Project (SLS) operates in three Kumam-speaking districts (Kaberamaido, Soroti and Serere) in the Teso Sub-region.
